We're in the middle of a virtual media tour for the National Road Safety Foundation, doing media interviews via zoom to talk about 'the 100 deadliest days" when teen traffic crashes spike, as young people are out of school and driving more.
Saturday we got a call from a reporter at KTUL-TV in Tulsa, asking if we could do an interview within an hour for his newscast that afternoon. It was about 2:30 and we were at the ballfield at Yarmouth (ME) High School, watching our grandson Jack play his last game for the varsity baseball team before his graduation yesterday.
There was no way I could get to a computer with internet, but the reporter said he could do it by phone and just use a photo of me.
But I was watching the game, and my grandson was coming up to bat soon.
And then the skies opened up -- downpour, thunder and even hail. So during the rain delay, I found a quiet and dry place to make my call. I then emailed the reporter some B-roll footage and a picture of myself, and the story aired a few hours later.

By the way, after more than an hour, the game continued and grandson Jack, with one out and bases loaded, successfully bunted a squeeze play that brought in the tying and the winning runs.
