April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
For The National Road Safety Foundation, we're mounting a nationwide virtual media tour to help get the word out that distraction is a factor in more than 25% of all fatal traffic crashes. Distracted driving kills more than 9,000 people every year.
There's an easy solution that can save lives...don't drive distracted. Or if you're a passenger in a car driven by someone who is distracted, speak up. Offer to take or make the call or text message. Tell the driver to keep his or her eyes on the road. And don't worry about being a "back-seat driver." It can save your life.
