The latest issue of Road Buzz, the National Road Safety Foundation's newsletter, is about to come out. It will be on the NRSF site in a few days.
This issue celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Foundation, which was prompted by the loss of two of founder Fred Manocherian's classmates to a drunk driver not long after their high school graduation.
It also sums up the launch of the first National Passenger Safety Week in January, which encouraged passengers to speak up when in a vehicle being driven dangerously. The campaign is continuing during Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April and the peak summer driving period starting with Memorial Day weekend.
The Foundation does a lot to help promote safe driving, including outreach to teens through groups like SADD and FCCLA.
I'm proud to be part of the team.
