    We are blessed by a more diverse country, but racism, separatism, and prejudice are not necessarily less than they were in the '50s. What has decreased are the overt hate and pain that minorities suffered back then. IMO. Even in NYC, which has large minority populations and is a bastion of liberal thinking, the Blacks and Hispanics often live in neighborhoods that lie segregated from most whites.
