Guerilla ad formats will increase, as will online ads to a tremendous degree. However because they'll be better targeted, we won't be necessarily seeing 'more'.

Green will be bigger in marketing, but much of it will be like spray coating. A better understanding of green processes and eco-effectiveness will develop among the intelligentsia and practitioners. Hopefully we don't see any more luxury bottled water.

As for social media goes, being personable will become a more valuable trait than being an objective writer alone. Quality of writing will continue to be an important differentiator/attractor. In networking, people will continue to link up to others but a greater importance for many folks is to establish depth with some of their new friends. Time is limited, and quality is greater than quantity.

    That's my best assessment

Mario, great input. Your take on social media is interesting, and I hope you're right about the importance of injecting personality and good writing into our blogs. And I agree 100% that, with limited time we have, quality is more important than quantity.

Thanks again, and happy New Year.

    Lewis Green

My only business goal and prediction is that I will be happier and better than any of the previous years. Have a great 2008!

    David Reich

Lewis, happy is really what it's all about, and I wish you the best of luck in meeting that goal/prediction. Regards.

As for media, the networks are definitely in control of both the buy and sell sides of national television advertising. How they exercise this nearly total control over the buy/sell process will change the business completely and quite rapidly. The media agencies have failed to show any evidence of their much touted 'clout' and appear to have no source of entrepreneurial Viagra that would enable them to advantage their advertiser clients.
