Excellent post, David. Thanks so much! That the "incoming guy," a lifelong New Yorker, continues to trash the veracity of The New York Times adds to my dread of his presidency. Despite the fact that he recently briefly changed his tune on that score, the damage is done. All of the Trump supporters that I know are trashing The Times now as well.

Thanks Judy. Yes, although to their faces he said he has great respect for The Times, he still name-calls on twitter and he still has his attack dogs like Kelly-Ann working to undermine them. I suppose if he keeps chipping away at their credibility, his followers won't believe any future stories they do that may be critical of his decisions or investigating his many many many conflicts and out-and-out deceptions.

We need a strong and free and independent press more than ever.
