    Some people are fearful that the expenses related to manufacturing green products will sink the companies they either own or invest in or will cause the products they buy to significantly increase in cost.

    As I was reading your post, I, too, immediately thought about "green" jobs. To help her colleagues on the Hill make the right choices, Ms. Boxer will need to show, with numbers, just how much more we'll gain from the jobs than lose from the costs related with conducting green businesses.

    Completely agree @Jeanne Byington. Marketing to companies about the actual costs associated with implementing green practises, and especially, those with the significant power can hopefully reverse public perception.
    We ourselves make biodegradable cups and our company is relatively small - and admittalby our influence is perhaps weak. Therefore, by influencing these companies, hopefully a cascade effect will result... Keep up it though!
